Welcome to Foolish Morsels, where the cookies are sweet, the icing is elaborate, and the person behind it all is me, Jen Thompson — a woman who somehow ended up balancing baking, parenting, and the general chaos of everyday life with varying degrees of grace.

I’m married to Chas, my husband, life partner, and wrestling coach, which means our household is never short on laundry, loud opinions, or people running around in a determined manner. Together, we’re raising three lively boys — Cub, Oz, and Wynn — who seem to have been engineered for motion, noise, and the occasional astonishment. They keep life interesting, which is one way of putting it.

My Baking Story

Baking became more than just a hobby when I began my professional journey in 2019. I discovered fairly quickly that I had a knack for turning sugar, flour, and a completely unreasonable amount of patience into something people genuinely wanted to eat. There is a particular satisfaction in creating cookies that look as though they require a small team and a graduate degree, when in fact they are mostly the result of steady hands, a stubborn streak, and a love of detail.

My favorite creations are Disney-themed royal icing sugar cookies, which allow me to combine two things I’ve always loved: decorating and the peculiar, enduring magic of Disney.

A Few Hard Miles

In 2022, life took a sharp turn when I suffered a stroke. It was one of those unwelcome events that rearranges everything and forces you to relearn patience, strength, and the value of taking things one step at a time. With the help of my family and friends, I gradually rebuilt my health and my business, and I’m proud to say that Foolish Morsels has returned with renewed energy, a bit more wisdom, and probably a slightly greater appreciation for rest than before.

Why Disney Matters

Disney has long held a special place in my heart, largely because it manages to combine nostalgia, wonder, and an almost suspicious ability to make adults feel like children again. My family visits the parks about twice a year, which feels just about right: often enough to keep the magic alive, and not so often that we have to pretend the crowds are part of the charm.. The joy of running in Run Disney events adds another layer to our love for Disney—there’s nothing quite like crossing the finish line surrounded by fellow Disney enthusiasts.

At Foolish Morsels, I combine my love for baking with the enchanting world of Disney to create cookies that are not just treats but also magical experiences. Whether it’s a birthday party or a family gathering, I aim to sprinkle a little Disney magic into every occasion.
